KINGSTON - Ont. The Queen's women's volleyball team were defeated by York in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-18) match at Tait MacKenzie Gymnasium in Toronto.
The Gaels kept the first set a tight one, only losing by four points. The women didn't have the aggression they needed to win but they did not give up and ended up having more total attacks per set than York.
Colleen Ogilvie for the Gaels got 8 kills, and Kelsey Bishop got 7, proving the team has determination and reliability on the front line.
Both team's setters made 13 assists but the game-high amount of kills goes to Brandie Wilkerson for York.
With the loss, the Gaels fall to 1-1 in regular-season play. The women play their next game is Sunday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. against Brock.
