Thunder Bay, Ont. (January 21, 2012)- The Queen's Gaels (9-5) visited the Lakehead Thunderwolves (0-12) today for their first game of back-to-back weekend action between the two squads. Despite close matches, the Gaels swept their last place opponents in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-22).

The Gaels (44 kills) nearly doubled Lakehead's kill count (26 kills), and were led by setter Anna Pedjase of Waterloo, Ont., who accounted for 40 assists.

Becky Billings of Ottawa, Ont. was the defensive conscience of the Gaels tonight, and made her presence felt with eight digs, despite being held to low offensive output.

Breanne Hilhorst of Killarney, Man. dug up a team high 14 balls for Lakehead.
