Gaels sweep cross town rival RMC in three straight sets

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (January 20, 2012) The Gaels (8-6) drew off their bench during their sweep of the winless RMC Paladins (0-14), giving setter Matthew Bonshor of Surray, B.C. a chance to direct the offense. The Gaels won 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 for the straight sets victory.

First year Mike Tomlinson of St. Pauls, Ont. led the Gaels with a team high nine kills to go along with eight digs and one solo block. He was the main focal point of the Gaels offense throughout the night, along with Mathew Taylor of Toronto who recorded eight kills and six digs.

Kingston native Tyler Leknois led the RMC squad with 10 kills. He was the only player to register double digit kills. However, RMC only recorded 20 kills as a team, meaning Leknois provided half of their total offense. The Gaels also beat RMC in total digs, registering 43 in comparision to RMC's 38.

Jacob Glantz of St. Catherines, Ont. led the Gaels with 9 digs.

The Gaels play next on January 28th at 2 pm against  the Ryerson Rams (2-9).
