BOX SCORE WINDSOR, Ont. (December 3, 2011) - The No. 3 Windsor Lancers (6-2) got the best of the Gaels (4-4) Saturday evening in OUA basketball action in Windsor. The final score was 83-53 for Windsor.
The Lancers made it difficult on the Gaels from the tipoff. By the end of the first quarter, the Gaels were down 22-10. In the second quarter Queen's improved their shooting, but the Gaels still could not chip into the early Lancer lead. The team went into halftime trailing by a score of 39-25. The second mirrored the first, the Gaels were outscored 23-13 and 21-15 in the third and fourth quarters respectively.
The Gaels managed to force 16 turnovers from the Lancers. Queen's also shot a strong nine for 12 from the charity stripe. The Lancer defense held the Gaels shooting to 33 percent from the floor and 22 from beyond the arc, and were not able to surpass 15 points in any quarter. The key deficit, however, was in rebounds, where they were outdone 58-30, including 25 second chance opportunities off the Lancer offensive glass. The Lancers did not shoot a particularly high field goal percentage at 40%, but were able to take advantage with their strong team rebounding after any miss.

Brittany Moore led all scorers with 19 points. She also had five boards and three assists.
Sydney Kernahan of Calgary chipped in six points to go along with six rebounds.
The Gaels schedule continues after the Christmas break on Friday, January 6th versus Ryerson University. Tipoff is set for 6:00 pm in Kingston.
