Gaels top Laurier 10-9 in women's lacrosse

| By:
TORONTO (October 3, 2011) - The Gaels traveled to Toronto on Saturday for their lone game of the weekend against last year's OUA gold medalists, Wilfred Laurier.

Queen's came ready and jumped to an early lead that they never gave up and at one point opened up a lead as large as three. The highlight of the game was rookie sensation Teresa Mayo, from Orillia, Ont. who scored five times playing a solid game at centre. Another noteworthy performance cam from veteran defenders Darcy Vidler, Murielle Landry and Sarah McLean. The trio played a physical game that fully offset Laurier's strengths.

A special thanks or the lacrosse alumni that came out in force to support the current team. Next weekend the Gaels travel to Laurier for  a series of three games.
