KINGSTON, Ont. (February 5, 2010) – The Gaels women's volleyball team extended their ARC winning streak to four games as they defeated Western 3-0 with set wins of 25-19, 25-16, and 31-29.
Queen's women's teams (volleyball and basketball) are now 6-0 in their new facility.
Colleen Ogilvy (Calgary, Alta) and
Natalie Gray (Oshawa, Ont.) each had 14 points in the match and combined for 17 digs.
Julie Lockwood (Calgary, Alta) had a solid performance with 31 assists in three games. It was the third time this season that the Gaels have won in straight sets.
Western had a tough time containing the power of the Gaels, giving up 43 kills to only 28 by the Mustangs. Sara Farrell (London, Ont.) had nine points in the loss.
The Gaels have two games left in the regular season; Saturday against the University of Windsor at 6:00 in the ARC main gym, and Wednesday February 10th against RMC, in a makeup game for one postponed earlier in the season.
