KINGSTON, Ont. (October 30, 2010) –
Natalie Gray of Oshawa, Ont., led the Gaels with 12 kills and 13 points as Queen's swept the Lakehead Thunderwolves in their home opener in the ARC Saturday evening.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-15, and 25-23.
Gray led the Gaels with 13 points.
Katie Matthews of Aurora, Ont., contributed 12 points in the win with seven kills, two solo blocks, and two block assists.
Setting duties for the Gaels were split between
Julie Lockwood of Calgary, Alta., and
Anna Pedjase of Waterloo, Ont., who finished with 21 and 11 assists respectively.
Defensively the Gaels were lead by
Lorna Button of Newcastle, Ont., who added 14 digs.
Queen's begins the season undefeated with a 3-0 regular season record.
The Gaels next game is at 6:00 Wednesday evening against the RMC Paladins in the ARC.
