Gaels overwhelm Gryphons on the road

| By:
GUELPH, Ont. (October 1, 2010) – Daniel Moor of Toronto scored 18 points as the Queen's men's rugby team shutout the Guelph Gryphons 28-0 Friday night.

Moor opened the scoring for the Gaels in the first half, scoring his first of two trys and following it with a convert to stake Queen's to a 7-0 lead.

With the Gryphons holding Queen's to just Moor's seven first half points thanks to a very strong effort, the Gaels came out determined to extend their lead in the second half. Matthew Wolfe, of Toronto, and Dylan McTavish of Mississauga, Ont., joined Moor to give the Gaels three scores in the half to blow the game open for Queen's, sending them to their third victory of the season.

Defensively, the game was perhaps the Gaels strongest of the season, thanks to great efforts from McTavish and Ryan Guichon. Team captain Henry McQueen of Vancouver, also had one of his best performances of the year.

Queen's will look to improve to 4-1 next Friday when they travel to McMaster to battle the Marauders. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
