OTTAWA, Ont. (January 23, 2010) – The Ottawa Gee Gees scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to blow open a tie game as they defeated the Queen's Gaels 81-69 on Saturday night.

Josh Gibson-Bascombe was a force in all aspects of the game for Ottawa as he scored a game-high 28 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists. Three other Gee Gees reach double figures in scoring, including 18 points from Donnie Gibson.

Mitch Leger of Kingston, Ont., continued his spectacular season that has him being considered as the CIS Player of the Year as he recorded his 11th double-double of the year, 26 points and 10 rebounds.

One of the key statistics from the game was the free throw shooting of the Gaels. Queen's only shot 43.8% from the charity stripe compared to Ottawa's 80%.

The loss drops the Gaels to 7-8 on the season while Ottawa improves to 12-2.

Queen's will play their first game in the new Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC) this Friday night when they host the Laurentian Voyageurs. Game time is set for 8:00 pm.
