Grey, Ogilvie sharp in Gaels win over RMC

KINGSTON, Ont. (January 15, 2010) - Nathalie Grey of 11 points and Colleen Ogilvie of Calgary added 10 as the Queen's Gaels women's volleyball team defeated the Royal Military College Paladins in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-13)

Grey registered a game high nine kills in the three set victory which handed the Gaels their sixth win of the season. Ogilvie had seven kills and recorded three blocks and a single dig. Setter Julie Lockwood of Calgary had 23 assists. Middle Leah Franco of Oakville, Ont., converted six kills on eight attempts for a 75% attack efficiency ratio.

Kingston's Melissa McCoy was RMC's leading scorer tallying six points with five kills and a single assist.

Queen's record improves to 6-5 and sits tied with York University for second place of the OUA east. Toronto hold the OUA east division lead with 14 points while York and Queen's both have 12 points. York was idle on Friday and have two games in hand on both Toronto and Queen's.

On Sunday (Jan. 17), the Gaels will battle the York Lions on Primetime Whiteout Day. Sunday's game marks the opening game in Queen's new Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC) and fans are encouraged to wear white to the game or purchase a commemorative shirt at the game.
