KINGSTON, ONT. (November 7, 2009) – On the second night of the weekend series, the Gaels could not hold on to a halftime lead, losing 79-73 to the McMaster Marauders. 

The Gaels started the game strong, leading 36-31 after the first half, thanks to 20 points by Katie Guthrie (Orillia, Ont.). Guthrie finished the game with a season-high 30 points, six rebounds, and a game-high three steals. 

The second half proved to be more challenging, as McMaster outscored the Gaels 22-16 in the third quarter. The Marauders relied on the bench performance of Nicole Rosenkranz, who had team-highs of 21 points and seven rebounds. 

Brittany Moore (Hannon, Ont.) chipped in with 24 points, including hitting five of seven attempts from downtown, but the effort would not be enough to get the Gaels the victory.
 
The Gaels (1-2) continue their season in Waterloo next weekend with games against the University of Waterloo on November 13th and Wilfrid Laurier University on November 14th.
