KINGSTON, Ont. (November 11, 2009) - Mackenzie Ball of Shannonville, Ont., made 37 saves but it wasn't enough to earn the Gaels a victory as they fell 4-3 to the RMC Paladins in a shootout.

The loss drops the Gaels to 3-4-1 on the season while the Paladins improve to 3-4-2.

The first period saw the Paladins build a 2-0 lead before Michael Bushby of Thunder Bay, Ont., scored his first of the season to pull the Gaels to within a goal.

Queen's tied the game in the second period thanks to David Chubb's (St. George's, Nfld.) second of the season.

Ball came up big in the second period and kept the game tied as he turned aside all 13 RMC shots.

In the third, despite the Paladins continuing to carry the play, Jordan Mirwaldt of Winnipeg, Man., scored a powerplay goal to give the Gaels the lead. However, the Gaels couldn't hold onto the lead and the Paladins tied it up less than two minutes later.

After overtime couldn't find a winner, the game proceeded to a shootout. Matthew Pinder would score the lone goal of the shootout for RMC as goaltender Andrew Flemming stopped all three Gaels shooters.

Queen's will look to snap their two game losing streak on Friday night when they travel to Toronto to take on the York Lions. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
