Gaels pick up 4 points against McGill and Carleton

KINGSTON, Ont. (October 9, 2009) – The Queen's Field Hockey team had a successful afternoon as they picked up four points in games against McGill and Carleton.

In their opening game at Tindall Field, the Gaels fell behind early but responded with a goal in the 65th minute by Caroline Jamison of Ottawa, Ont. to pick up a 1-1 tie.

The next game for Queen's saw them explode for three goals in six minutes as they pulled out a 3-0 victory over Carleton. Casey Tulk of Kingston, Ont., opened the scoring before Emily Newton of Vancouver, B.C., and Mary-Anne Reid of Gananoque, Ont. put the game out of reach.

Queen's will look to carry their strong play as they head into games with the Toronto Varsity Blues and the York Lions next weekend in Toronto.
