Toronto (January 16, 2009) –
Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., maintained her 20 plus point per game pace in a narrow 75-71 loss to the Varsity Blues on Friday.
Moore, the leading scorer in OUA women's basketball sank eight shots including five three pointer for a total of 23 points.
Alaina Porter of Burlington, Ont., was the Gaels next top scorer, recording a double-double finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Nicki Schutz of Toronto, duplicated Moore's 23 points to lead the Varsity Blues. Alaine Hutton of Hamilton finished behind Schutz with 20 points for Toronto.
Toronto opened the game with a 19-11 lead and went into the half with a 39-33 advantage. Returning from the break, Queen's rallied for 24 points making the score 57-52 in favour of the Gaels. The Blues exploded for 23 points in the final quarter while Queen's responded with just 14 to fall 75-71.
Queen's (5-8) will contend against Ryerson (5-8) tomorrow night at 6:00pm
