McKenna records fourth shutout

Gaels move into tie for first place

Kingston, Ont. (September 24, 2008) –Kate McKenna of Oakville, Ont. who was named Queen's Athlete of the Week on Monday, was solid once again in net for the Gaels as they defeated the Carleton Ravens 1-0.
 
McKenna stopped all five shots from Carleton recording her fourth shutout of the season. The victory improves Queen's record to 5-3-0 on the season
 
On the offensive side of the ball Felicia Periera of Simcoe, Ont. added her second goal of the season in the 29th minute of the first half to give Queen's the lead and the eventual win.
 
The Gaels move into a tie for first place in the East Division with Toronto who will take on Trent Saturday, September 27th.  Queen's have the weekend off from the OUA schedule and play an exhibition match-up against Queen's Alumni during Homecoming this weekend. They will match-up against returning players starting at 11:00am at the South Field on West Campus.
 
The Gaels return to regular season action on October 4th when they travel to Ottawa to take on the Gee-Gee's.
