Heller helps Gaels defeat Lakehead in straight sets

Heller had 5 aces in victory over Lakehead
Kingston, Ont. (November 15, 2008) - Elyssa Heller of Highland Parl, III, USA fired five service aces and recorded nine kills to lead the Gaels to a straight set victory over Lakehead on Saturday inside Bartlett Gym on campus at Queen's University.

Heller led the team in points with 16 while setter Kristin Collins of Whitby, Ont. would record 32 assists and six digs in the win over the Thunderwolves.

The Gaels would trade points with Lakehead early, but the Gaels would find its stride late to secure the first set 25-18. The momentum carried into the final two sets, with the Gaels winning handily recording 25-13 and 25-15 set victories. 

Queen's record improves to 3-4 after splitting the weekend series against Lakehead and York. Last night the Gaels lost 3-0 to the Lions. Next week, Queen's will battle both Waterloo teams as they host Laurier on Saturday and then Waterloo on Sunday. Both games are scheduled for 6:00pm.
