Pancer records 26 points in 106-0 victory over Trent

| By:
Peterborough, Ont. (October 4, 2008) – Zach Pancer of Unionville, Ont. scored one minute into the game which started an onslaught that would see Queen's rugby post a one-sided 106-0 victory over Trent on Saturday.

Pancer would go on to add a second try later in the second half and convert eight of the Gaels 18 tries. His 26 points were the highest among all Gaels. Graham Whyte of Whitby, Ont. and Alexander Clark of Oakville, Ont. each added three tries apiece in the contest.

The margin of victory was the largest in a OUA rugby match-up in the last eight seasons and was the second highest point total earned by a single offence during a game. The highest point total was set in 2006 when the Brock Badgers defeat the University of Toronto 107-13.

Other first half scorers were Alexandre Nemetz-Sinchein of Vancouver, Colin Alexander of Hockessin, Delaware, Christopher Fulton of Richmond Hill, Kyle Freitag of Alliston, Ont. Among the second half scorers were: Grahame Dibden of Edmonton, Shane Baddley of Toronto, Dan Pletch of Lucan, Ont. and Aaron Balinsky of Toronto who ended the game with back to back tries.

Focus for the Gaels shift to a critical match-up against the Brock Badgers who visit Queen's on Friday October 10 for an afternoon match-up on Kingston Field. This will be a rematch of the OUA Championship last season where the Badgers won 22-6.

This season both teams are battling for top position in the OUA. Queen's is in first with a 3-0-1 record while Brock is second with a 3-1-0 record. Game time is scheduled for 2:00pm
