Yeomans score only goal in three losses over the weekend

Ottawa, Ont. (October 5, 2008) - Women's field hockey record stands at 1-5-0 now after a three loss weekend in the nation's capital. The Gaels were held pointless in the final two games.

Queen's started the weekend Saturday as they took on Guelph and York. In the first match up the Gaels were over powered and defeated 6-1. Maggie Yeomans of Mississuaga, Ont. got the lone goal for the Gaels.

Saturday afternooon the Gaels were up against the York Lions. The game was a lot closer but again Queen's came up short loosing 1-0.

On Sunday the Gaels took the field with hopes of salvaging the weekend with a win against Guelph but their hopes were shut down as they lost 3-0 to the Gryphons.

Queen's will now look forward for redemtion when they play next Friday night October 10th against York. They will then have back to back games on Saturday October 11th against McGill and Carleton. All games will be played at the Nepean Sportsplex in Nepean, Ont.
