Toronto blanks Quen's 2-0

Toronto (October 10, 2008) – The Queen's Gaels lost 2-0 to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night at the Varsity Centre in Toronto.

Dylan Bams of Comex Valley, B.C., opened the scoring for Toronto in the first half, while Niko Pesa of Burlington, Ont., added the insurance goal in the second half breaking up the Gaels two game win streak. Previously Queen's had registered a 5-0 win over Royal Military College and then a 2-0 victory over Trent.

Luciano Lombradi of Scarborough, Ont. recorded the shutout for the Varsity Blues making one save. Gaels net minder Tyler Lewis of Maple Ridge, B.C. made six saves.

The Gaels record now sits at 4-5-2 with just three games to play in the season. Queen's is in fourth place of the East Division with 14 points just two points ahead of Trent. The Gaels sit three points behind third place Laurentian. Tomorrow the Gaels will play Ryerson who are in sixth place. The top six teams in each division make the playoffs.
