 Originally from Delta, Ontario, Guy Curtis was the preeminent Queen’s athlete of the nineteenth century. So renowned was Curtis that his name appears in the school song. Concurrent captain, coach and player, he led Queen’s to its first Dominion Football Championship in 1893. He also played a prominent role in Queen’s hockey history as a teammate with Jock Harty and others in Queen’s first bid for the original Stanley Cup in 1895.
