Queen's University Athletics

Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) of the women’s soccer team is the Queen’s University Female Athlete of the Week. The first-year goalkeeper backstopped the Gaels to the bronze medal at the OUA Final Four tournament in Ottawa. On Saturday, she made 13 saves as she shut out the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks before the Gaels fell 1-0 on penalty kicks. On Sunday, she made four saves during normal play, and three stops during the penalty shootout, as Queen’s downed McMaster 2-1 to win the OUA bronze medal and advance to the CIS Women’s Soccer Championship.
