Sabourin was the recipient of the 2010-11 male Alfie Pierce Award for Varsity Teams. Sabourin, one of the top line-backing recruits in the country, set a football team record for solo tackles in his first game with Queen's and finished third in the nation in tackles. Following the season, he was unanimous choice for OUA Rookie of the Year.
