Queen's Women's Hockey opened the second half of their 2025-26 season on the road Friday night, earning a point against the Toronto Varsity Blues in a 4-3 shootout loss in Toronto, Ont.
The Gaels led in the third period when
Carys Collie (Life Sciences) netted a power play goal for two in the game, but the Varsity Blues would score an equalizer two minutes later.
After overtime settled nothing, Toronto managed to take the win in the shootout.
Sydney Rasmussen (Concurrent Education) also scored for Queen's while
Emily DeBrouwer (Engineering),
Taylor Eastwood (Commerce),
Mikayla Cranney (Arts & Science), and
Melissa Parton (Arts & Science) all recorded assists.
Emma Tennant (Mechanical Engineering) faced 35 shots for the Gaels, recording 32 saves. Queen's finished with 36 shots on net.
With the loss, just their third of the season, Queen's record fell to 13-2-1. The Gaels will close out their weekend road trip Saturday in Guelph, Ont., taking on the Guelph Gryphons at 2:30 p.m.
