Gaels Show Fight in 72-84 Loss to Carleton

The Queen's Gaels Men's Basketball team battled hard against the Carleton Ravens on Friday, January 9, but came up short in an 72-84 loss. Despite the result, the Gaels showed determination and competitiveness throughout the game, staying within reach against a strong Carleton squad.

Ollie Engen (Kinesiology) led the Gaels offensively with 24 points, while Noah Khaja (Arts) added 13 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Tyson Lama (Commerce) also contributed 13 points, including three three-pointers, giving the Gaels key offensive support

The Gaels worked to keep the game close early, trailing 13-19 after the first quarter and heading into halftime down just 35-40. The Gaels responded with a strong third quarter, outscoring Carleton to take a 57-52 lead heading into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, however, the Ravens regained control and pulled away late, sealing the 84-72 victory.

The Gaels will look to regroup as they face the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, January 10.
