The Queen's Women's Rugby opened their home game with an 160-0 shutout over the York Lions on Saturday September 6th at Nixon Field. The win moves the Gaels to 2-0 on the season and keeps them at the top of the OUA standings.

Just seconds into the match, Lizzie Gibson (Arts and Sciences) opened the scoring with a try, setting the tone early. 

Lizzie Gibson (Arts and Sciences) led with three tries and 20 successful conversions totalling up to 55 alone. Gaels continued their impressive run with multiple players crossing the try line. Maddy May (Kinesiology) and Kyleigh Chandran (Arts and Sciences) each scored four tries, while Salomé Lapp (Arts and Sciences) added three. Maxie Grant (Arts and Sciences) and Kennedi Stevenson (Arts and Sciences) contributed two tries apiece. Jayne Armatage (Arts and Sciences), Stephanie Douglas (Arts and Sciences),  Guinevere O'Hara (Fine Art), Riley Stone (Education), Elyse Saddington (Arts and Sciences), and Michaela Cormier (Education) each contributed one try as the Gaels powered their way to victory.

Gaels held a 82-0 lead at halftime and continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, finishing with a strong performance in both attack and defence. The Gaels stayed organized and disciplined on defence, keeping York off the scoreboard for the whole game. With this overwhelming victory, Gaels continues to build momentum heading into their next game.
