Queen's Men's Soccer faced off against the Toronto Varsity Blues this Saturday at Richardson Stadium in a highly anticipated East Division rematch. Coming off a narrow defeat in their previous meeting, the Gaels were determined to bounce back and reclaim momentum.
The opening half was a tightly contested affair, marked by intensity and physicality from both sides. The Gaels and Blues traded possession throughout the first half, but neither side was able to find the back of the net, sending the game into halftime in a scoreless draw.
Goalkeeper Connor Adams (Fine Arts) delivered an impressive performance between the posts, recording six saves and playing a key role in keeping Queen's within striking distance. Second-year forward Jacob Ball (Economics) nearly found the equalizer with two shots on goal in the final minutes, but a second-half tally from the Blues ultimately proved to be the difference, as the Gaels fell 1-0.
Queen's will look to regroup quickly as they head to Peterborough on Friday, September 19th, to take on the Trent Excalibur.
