Queen's Women's Volleyball's Claire Carter was named to Team Canada's U21 roster for two upcoming tournaments, Volleyball Canada announced Wednesday.

Carter (School of Business) will compete for Canada at the U21 NORCECA Pan-Am Cup in Costa Rica from July 20-28, and the U21 FIVB World Championships in Indonesia from August 7-17.

Carter, an outside hitter for the Gaels, earned OUA Third Team All-Star honours last season. Carter's exceptional service game has been a significant asset for the team, leading both the OUA and U SPORTS with 56 service aces.

"Claire really stepped into her own this season after limited game experience last year, bringing a lot of competence and composure to the team. I'm excited to see her future as she continues with our program next season," Queen's Women's Volleyball Head Coach Shanice Marcelle said after the season. 

The second-year athlete also recorded 152 kills and 118 digs, showcasing their ability to contribute on both offense and defense.
