KINGSTON, Ont. (April 1, 2025) – Queen's Women's Lacrosse was recognized as the Queen's University Varsity Club of the Year for the 2024-25 season at the 89th annual Colour Awards banquet on Tuesday night at the Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC).
The Award of Merit, presented annually to the top-performing Varsity Club, celebrates exceptional the club's competitive success, community involvement and other attributes which have brought the most honour and recognition to Queen's.
After going undefeated through the regular season, the Gaels completed their run to secure the OUA Women's Lacrosse Championship and earn their fifth title in program history.
Individual excellence played a key role in the team's success, with
Jaedyn Smail earning OUA Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year honors and a First Team All-Star selection.
Charlotte Sawicki,
Abby Lee, and
Kaya Maracle were also named First Team All-Stars.
