Queen's Women's Hockey hit the ice Saturday afternoon for a hard-fought game against the Brock Badgers, skating to a 4–3 shootout win.

It was a tight-checking opening frame, with both teams trading chances but unable to find the back of the net. The Gaels' penalty killers came up huge, shutting down multiple Brock power plays to keep the game scoreless through 20 minutes.

Brock broke through midway through the second to take a 1–0 lead, but Queen's answered back in style. Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) evened things up late in the period, slipping one five-hole past the Brock netminder off a setup from Melissa Patron (Arts & Sciences). Moments later, with just 10 seconds left in the frame, Mikayla Cranney (Arts & Sciences) buried a go-ahead marker to send the Gaels into the intermission up 2–1. Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) and Rhae Thomas (Arts & Sciences) picked up the assists.

In the third, Cranney struck again—ripping a shot from the slot to make it 3–1 and notch her second of the night. Jada Wood (Arts & Sciences) and Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) picked up the assists, with Hudson recording her third point of the game. The Badgers, however, weren't finished, battling back with two late goals—including the equalizer in the final minute—to send the game to overtime.

After a scoreless extra frame, the Gaels sealed the win in the shootout. Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) and Taya Leonard (Kinesiology) both found the back of the net, while goaltender Emma Tennant (Mechanical Engineering) stood tall, stopping all Brock shootout attempts and making 37 saves overall to backstop Queen's to a thrilling 4–3 victory.
