Toronto, ON - Queen's Men's Volleyball kept their winning streak alive with back-to-back victories over the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold, with a 3-1 win in Toronto.
The Gaels started strong, taking the first two sets 25-17 and 25-14. TMU struggled with errors in the second set, and Queen's capitalized.
An unexpected turn in the third, the Bold fought back, narrowly winning 25-23 the third set — handing the Gaels their first set loss of the season and forcing a fourth set. But Queen's bounced back quickly, finishing the match with a 25-19 win in the final set to secure the 3-1 victory.
The highlight of the night, was Queen's setter Chris Zimmerman (Arts). Zimmerman made history breaking the Queen's all-time assists record in the very first set. Zimmerman now holds 2,126 career assists record. Zimmerman has 38 assists so far this season.
"It's a very cool honour to have [the record]," said Zimmerman after the victory. "But my sets don't mean anything without my attackers, and I get to play with the best guys in the country."
