After defeating the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at home on Friday evening, Queen's Women's Hockey travelled to Oshawa to take on the Ridgebacks again. The Gaels brought home a 2-1 victory.
Queen's focused on their offense and maintained their momentum from Friday's match.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first period, despite a power play for the Gaels late in the period.
The Ridgebacks tried to find the first goal early in the second with a scramble around the Queen's net however,
Emma Tennant (Mechanical Engineering) formed a brick wall at the net.
The Gaels also had their own chance for a goal early in the second but big defensive action from the Ridgeback stopped Queens' breakaway.
Queen's light up the scoreboard 17 minutes into the second period on a power play.
Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) fired the puck into the right side of the net, assisted by
Carys Collie (Life Science).
Sophy Aldred (Arts & Science) found another Queen's goal halfway through the third, breaking away from the Ridgeback's defense and going through the goalie's five hole.
Ontario Tech added the final goal of the evening, on their own power play.
With the win, Women's Hockey's record on the season improves to 7-13.
The Gaels return to action on Jan. 30, at 7pm, where they head to Ottawa to take on the Gee-Gees. The game is available to stream on
