Queen's Women's Soccer dominated their Friday matinee against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks with a decisive 4-0 victory in Oshawa, Ont. at Vaso's Field.
The Gaels showcased their offensive prowess early, with
Mattson Strickler (Concurrent Education) opening the scoring at the 20th minute, assisted by
Morgan Fenton (Philosophy).
Strickler continued to shine, adding another goal at the 56th minute.
Immediately after the Ridgebacks kickoff, the Gaels quickly regained possession, bringing the ball down field as
Lily Goss (Kinesiology)Â passed the ball to rookie
Brinley Bjornson (Arts), who scored the second Gaels goal in under a minute.
Goalkeeper
Kirstin Tynan (Arts & Science)Â secured a clean sheet, thanks to the Gaels' smothering defense that effectively shut down any offensive threats from the Ridgebacks.
Despite several key saves by Ridgebacks' goalkeeper Alicia Chisholm, Queen's relentless pressure was overwhelming.
The Gaels will look to carry this momentum into their next game on Saturday against the TMU Bold in Toronto, with another 1 p.m. kickoff.
