Queen's Men's Rugby are national silver medalists after falling to the ÉTS Piranhas 23-19 in the Championship Game at the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship (CUMRC) Sunday night in Ottawa, Ont.
The Gaels earned a silver medal at the national level to go along with the silver medal they earned at the conference level in the OUA.
Cameron Bubyn (Computer Science) finished the game with two tries while Dan Svoboda (Kinesiology) added one, and
Marcus D'Acre (Economics) recorded two converts.
The game was back-and-forth with Queen's holding a late 19-17 lead, but ÉTS would score late and hold on for the four-point win.
Tao Nichol (Applied Science) was named the Player of the Game for Queen's.
After the game, five Gaels were named CUMRC Tournament All-Stars. Bubyn, D'Acre, Nichol,
Owen Lee (Commerce), who earlier in the week was named a CUMRC Second Team All-Canadian, and
Ben Greenstein (Life Sciences) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
