Queen's Men's Basketball won their fifth straight game Friday, defeating the host Western Mustangs 92-80 in London, Ont.
It was a tight game throughout, with the Gaels shooting and play down low proving to be the difference in the 12-point win. Queen's shot 50 per cent from the floor, compared to 37 per cent for the Mustangs, and out-scored the Mustangs 52-34 in the paint.
Cole Syllas and
Fofo Adetogun had big games for the Gaels, each recording double doubles. Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) had a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Adetogun added 11 points while grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds.
Luka Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) recorded 19 points and
Aaron Tennant (London, Ont.) added 15 points in the win.
With the victory, Queen's improved their record to 13-3 and remain in second place in the OUA East standings, two games behind the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
The Gaels will close out their weekend road trip Saturday night against the Windsor Lancers in Windsor, Ont.
