Queen's Women's Basketball opened their weekend road trip in Toronto, Ont. with a big 75-54 win over the TMU Bold Friday night.
Five Gaels scored in double digits for the Gaels in the win, led by
Laura Donovan (London, Ont.), who poured in a team-high 15 points while
Julia Chadwick's dominant play continued with a double-double. Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds.
Bella Gaudet (Ottawa, Ont.) and
Emma Weltz (Timmins, Ont.) scored 12 and 10 points respectively, while
Mikayla McFarlane (Kingston, Ont.) added 12 points off the bench.
Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) also had a big game with 12 rebounds for Queen's.
The Gaels controlled the game down low, outscoring the Bold 38-22 in the paint.
With the win, Queen's improved their record to 13-2 while TMU's record fell to 11-4 with the loss. The Gaels will close out their weekend road trip in Toronto tomorrow night against the Toronto Varsity Blues at 6 p.m.
