Gaels win big on the road, blank Western to remain undefeated on the season

Queen's Women's Rugby maintained their perfect record and have still not given up a point after defeating the host Western Mustangs 53-0 in London, Ont. Saturday.

After big wins over the Trent Excalibur and Toronto Varsity Blues to start the season, the Gaels earned their third straight win over the Mustangs Saturday to improve their record to 3-0 and their combined score to 260-0.

Maggie Banks (Coquitlam, B.C.) led Queen's with two tries, Banks' second and third of the season, and Lizzie Gibson (Caledon, Ont) had five converts and one penalty convert for 13 points.

Siobhan Sheerin (Toronto, Ont.), Carmen Izyk (Blackie, Alta.), Maddy Donnelly (Little Britain, Ont.), Rachel Cullum (Ottawa, Ont.), Mika Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.), and Robyn Baker (Uxbridge, Ont.) all added one try each for the Gaels.

Queen's Women's Rugby will return to the pitch next weekend, hosting the Guelph Gryphons in an OUA Championship Game rematch on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
