BOX SCORE KINGSTON, On (Sept 10, 2023) - Queen's Men's Soccer lost to the Carleton Ravens 4-1 Sunday afternoon in Ottawa, Ont. After falling just short in overtime against the Ravens on Friday, the Gaels would face them again, this time away from home.
In the 16th minute, the Ravens were able to get in the box and get one past Queen's. Luca Picciolo would score a second goal for Carleton off a free kick.
The Gaels came out strong in the second half, clawing their way back in the game with a corner resulting in a great goal by
Matthew Ciavarro (Cambridge, Ont.) in the 49th minute.
Despite their solid comeback efforts, Picciolo found the back of the net once again, putting the Ravens back in a two-point lead. In the 88th minute, the Ravens would make another attack, increasing their lead to 3 points.
With the loss, the Gaels' record fell to 0-2-2.
The Gaels will be on the road again to take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks in Oshawa on Friday, September 15 at 3:15 pm.
