Gaels fall to Ottawa in OUA Championship, earn silver medal on the season

Queen's Women's Soccer finished their conference postseason schedule with silver medals after falling to the host Ottawa Gee-Gees in the OUA Championship game Sunday in Ottawa, Ont.

The game was tight through the first half, with the Gaels down just one goal at half time after Ottawa found the back of the net on an indirect free kick.

The Gee-Gees would score four goals in the second half, including two from former Queen's Women's Soccer player Jenna Matsukubo.

Seema Sakran (Ottawa, Ont.) scored the Gaels' lone marker in the loss, finding the back of the net in the 64th minute.

While the Gaels finish the OUA season with the silver medal, they will be back in action later this week in the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship.

Queen's is hosting the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship at Richardson Stadium from Thursday, Nov. 9 to Sunday, Nov. 12. Tournament Passes are on sale now and can be purchased for $55 on the Queen's Gaels tickets website. Catch all the action and cheer on the Gaels as they compete for a national championship!
