Queen's Men's Hockey defeated the RMC Paladins 8-3 Friday night at RMC, sweeping their home and home series with their crosstown rivals this week.
After the Paladins opened the scoring less than a minute into the game, the Gaels evened the score just eight seconds later and took the lead a minute later.
After a six-goal first period, Queen's held a 4-2 lead heading into the second period and would never relinquish it. The Gaels added two goals to their lead in the second period and another two goals in the third on their way to the five-goal lead.
Dalton Duhart (Grand Blanc, Mich.) led all players with four points, all assists, in the win for Queen's.
Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) and
Derek Hamilton (Kingston, Ont.) each had two goals and one assist, while
Owen Lalonde (Windsor, Ont.) and
Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) each recorded one goal and two assists.
Hayden Fowler (Kingston, Ont.) also had multiple reports, finishing the win with one goal and one assist.
With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 10-4-0. Queen's will be on the ice again next weekend, hosting the Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs.
