Queen's Women's Basketball defeated the Nipissing Lakers 79-62 Saturday night in North Bay, Ont. to sweep their weekend road series and keep their undefeated record in the 2023-24 season.

Julia Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) had a strong game for the Gaels, recording a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Haley Barbieri (Vaughan, Ont.) also had a strong offensive effort for Queen's pouring in 18 points in 15 minutes off the bench.

Queen's finished the game shooting 39 per cent from the floor and 11 per cent from three-point range, while holding the Lakers to 36 per cent from the floor and 30 per cent from three-point range.

The big difference in the game was points in the paint, with the Gaels outscoring the Lakers 46 to 12 down low.

With the win, Queen's improved their record to 4-0 on the season. The Gaels will take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks in a home-and-home series next weekend, hosting the Ridgebacks Friday at 11 am before traveling to Oshawa, Ont. to take on Ontario Tech on Saturday.
