Gaels open OUA Playoffs with big win over Trent

KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 28, 2023) - Queen's Men's Rugby opened the OUA Playoffs with a big 57-21 win over the Trent Excalibur Saturday afternoon at Nixon Field.

With the win, the Gaels advanced to the OUA semifinals, where they will travel to St. Catharines, Ont. to take on the Brock Badgers next weekend.

James Webb, Eric Godden, and Owen Lee led the offensive charge for Queen's, all scoring in double digits.

Webb (Toronto, Ont.) led the way with 12 points off six converts, while both Godden (Toronto, Ont.) and Lee (Fort Erie, Ont.) recorded two tries for 10 points.

The Gaels also got points from Neil Trainor (Stratford, Ont.), Cameron Bubyn (Peterborough, Ont.), Allister Poulos (Toronto, Ont.), Dennis Giancopoulos (Vancouver, B.C.), and Jacob Merkur (Vancouver, B.C.).
