KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 14, 2023) - One night after recording a hat trick against the Ottawa Gee-Gees,
Dalton Duhart recorded two goals and two assists in Queen's Men's Hockey's 4-2 win over the Carleton Ravens Saturday night at the Memorial Centre.
With the win, the Gaels remained undefeated on the season, improving their record to 4-0-0 through the first two weekends.
After Carleton opened the scoring late in the first period, Duhart (Grand Blanc, Mich.) evened the score early in the second period, finding the back of the net on a goal assisted by
Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) and
Hayden Fowler (Kingston, Ont.).
The Ravens regained the lead six minutes later on the power play, before
Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) and
Alex Robert (Ottawa, Ont.) scored a minute apart to give Queen's a 3-2 lead after two periods. Duhart assisted on both of the quick goals for the Gaels while
Thomas Stevenson (Ottawa, Ont.) and
Trevor Longo (North Vancouver, B.C.) also added helpers.
Duhart added an insurance marker midway through the third period, assisted by Hutcheson and
Jacob Paquette (Ottawa, Ont.).
Queen's finished with 28 shots on net while holding the Ravens to just 15, as
Aidan Spooner (Maple, Ont.) recorded 13 saves for the win for the Gaels.
Queen's will return to the ice next weekend with a pair of road games, taking on the Brock Badgers Friday, Oct. 20 and Guelph Gryphons Saturday, Oct. 21.
