KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 14, 2023) - Queen's Men's Volleyball defeated the Windsor Lancers 3-2 Saturday Night at the Athletics and Recreation Centre in the second of two meetings with the Lancers this weekend. The Gaels came back from down two sets to win it in five (28-30, 22-25, 26-24, 26-24, 15-10).

After a tough start with losses in the first two sets, the Gaels had to step it up and turn the game around. The third set was tight, but Queen's edged the Lancers out with a score of 26-24.
As pressure was rising from both sides of the court, the Gaels took the fourth set 26-24.
In the fifth and final set, Queen's started off strong with an early lead and finished it off with a score 15-10, ultimately ending up on top. Head coach Gabe deGroot state that the team had to adjust to an aggressive style of play from the Lancers Saturday night, but that the players' good technical and tactical skills keeps them grounded in each and every moment.
Erik Siksna led the Gaels with a game-high 22 kills while also finishing with four aces and 10 digs. Dax Thompkins recorded seven blocks while
Chris Zimmerman finished with 55 assists in the win for Queen's.

This victory gave the Gaels a 2-0 win against the Lancers at home this weekend and improved their record on the season to 5-6. Queen's will return to the court next weekend, traveling crosstown to take on the RMC Paladins on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
