Queen's Men's Soccer drop tight contest to Nipissing

Queen's Men's Soccer lost a tight 3-2 decision to the Nipissing Lakers Sunday on the road in North Bay, Ont.

After Nipissing scored in the first minute and added a second goal early in the second half, the Gaels fought back to tie the game. 

Pablo Hempelmann-Perez (Toronto, Ont.) got Queen's on the board in the 64th minute with his fifth goal of the season before Andrea Gortana (Vaughan, Ont.) knotted the game up at two in the 90th minute. 

The Gaels couldn't hold on however, with Nipissing scoring in added time for the one-goal win.

Connor Adams (Richmond, B.C.) recorded two saves in the loss for Queen's.

The loss dropped Queen's record to 2-3 on the season. The Gaels currently sit in sixth place in the OUA East standings. Nipissing improved to 4-1 with the win and sit in third place in the OUA East standings.

Queen's is back on the road next weekend in Toronto, Ont., taking on the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Oct. 1 and the TMU Bold on Sunday, Oct. 2.
