Queen's Men's Rugby open season with big win over cross-town rival RMC

KINGSTON, Ont. (Sept. 18, 2022) - Queen's Men's Rugby got off to a strong start to their regular season with a 57-0 win over their crosstown rivals, the RMC Paladins, Sunday at Nixon Field.

Mitchell White (Oakville, Ont.) led the way with two tries and six converts for a game-high 22 points.

Seven other Gaels found the scoresheet in the win with Evan Curd (Toronto, Ont.), Dan Svoboda (Whitby, Ont.), Rienk Van Der Ploeg (Walton, Ont.), Adam Doyle (Kingston, Ont.), James MacDonald (Surrey, B.C.), Eric Godden (Toronto, Ont.), and William Cheesewright (Oakville, Ont.) all adding one try each for the Gaels in the win.

With the victory, Queen's started the season at 1-0 while the Paladins dropped to 0-1.

The Gaels are back on the pitch next weekend, hosting the Western Mustangs on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. at Nixon Field.
