Queen's Men's Volleyball fell to the OUA Champion McMaster Marauders 3-1 (22-25, 30-28, 25-20, 25-18) in the consolation semifinals at the U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship from the University of Manitoba Saturday.
The Gaels jumped out to an early lead, taking the first set 25-22 and forced the second set to extra points before the Marauders eventually took it. With the game tied 1-1, McMaster would take the next two sets on their way to the 3-1 victory.
Erik Siksna (Markham, Ont.) was named the Player of the Game for Queen's after finishing with a team-high 11 kills while adding an ace and two assists.
Shane Gabel (Winnipeg, Man.) finished with nine kills, six digs, and two aces, while
Cole Duncanson (St. Catherines, Ont.) added seven kills, five blocks, and five digs in the loss for the Gaels.
Ben Moffatt (Kingston, Ont.) finished with a team-high 32 assists and
Lukas Kaufman (Stratford, Ont.) recorded a team-high seven digs.
With the loss, the Gaels are out of the U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship and will finish the season as the OUA Bronze Medallists.
