Queen's Men's Basketball advanced to the OUA East Final after defeating the Ottawa Gee-Gees 59-55 in the second round of the OUA Playoffs Saturday in Ottawa, Ont.
It was a close game throughout, with the Gaels pulling away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Gee-Gees 16-10, to take the game by four points.
Quinton Gray (Richmond Hill, Ont.) led Queen's in scoring with a game-high 20 points while adding five rebounds.
Cole Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) also scored in double digits for the Gaels and recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
The Gaels had the advantage in the paint Saturday, out-scoring the Gee-Gees 30-18 in the paint.Â
Queen's finished the game shooting 33 per cent (23-69) from the floor and 11.5 per cent (3-26) from three-point range, and held Ottawa to 27.9 per cent (17-61) shooting from the floor and 23.1 per cent (6-26) from three-point range.
The Gaels will return to the court Wednesday for the OUA East Final, taking on the winner of the other OUA East semifinal between the Carleton Ravens and the Rams.
