KINGSTON, Ont. (March 12, 2022) – Queen's Women's Volleyball defeated the York Lions 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18) in the second round of the OUA Playoffs. With the win, the Gaels advanced to the OUA East Final where they will take on the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Gaels trailed the Lions 22-19 in the first set before scoring six unanswered points to take the set. 25-22. They never looked back, taking the second set by 10 points and the third set by seven points on their way to a straight sets victory.

Hannah Duchesneau (Sharon, Ont.) helped the Gaels to victory with 13 kills, three aces, and three blocks, Arielle Palermo (Burlington, Ont.) added 12 kills, two aces, and an assist in the win.

Lauryn Colpitts (Fredericton, N.B.) finished the win with a game-high 39 assists while Mary Stewart (Uxbridge, Ont.) had a game-high 12 digs and Saffron van der Linde (Vancouver, B.C.) added a game-high four blocks.

The Gaels, who finished the regular season 10-2, will take on the Varsity Blues this week with a spot in the Quigley Cup on the line.
