Holden Katzalay and
Nolan Hutcheson scored two goals each to lead Queen's Men's Hockey past the RMC Paladins 6-1 at Constantine Arena Friday night.
Katzalay (West Vancouver, B.C.) also added an assist for a three-point night that vaulted him into the OUA scoring lead. He now has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 14 games this season.
After a scoreless first period,
Trevor Longo (North Vancouver, B.C.) opened the scoring for Queen's (No. 5) midway through the second period.Â
Jakob Brahaney (Hastings, Ont.) and Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) followed with second period goals to give the Gaels a three-goal lead heading into the third period.
Katzalay scored twice and Hutcheson scored his second of the game in the third period before Joel Holtrop got the Paladins on the board late in the third period.
Brahaney added an assist for a two-point night while
Josh Curtis (Winnipeg, Man.) recorded two assists for the Gaels in the win.
Queen's outshot RMC 35-17 with
Anthony Popovich (Barrie, Ont.) recording 16 saves for the win. The two teams return to action Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial Centre.
