KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 5, 2022) - Queen's Men's Volleyball lost a five-set match to the Toronto Varsity Blues 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 32-30, 21-25, 13-15) in their season opener Saturday at the Athletics and Recreation Centre.
The Gaels took the first and third set before the Varsity Blues forced a fifth and deciding set, which they took 15-13. The third set was a marathon, with Queen's coming out on top 32-30.
Erik SIksna led Queen's with 19 kills while Lachlan McBride finished the game with 15 and Shane Gabel added nine.
Cole Duncanson had a game-high six aces and Da Thompkins recorded a game-high five blocks.Â
Ben Moffat finished with 39 assists and nine digs.
The two teams will complete their weekend doubleheader to start the season Sunday at 4 p.m. at the ARC.
